Clay Plaster

Clay plaster is a type of plaster that uses natural clay as the binding element- this is mixed with aggregates and find sand to create the plaster mixture. It provides a natural, breathable finish and has been used for thousands of years.

Clay is a plaster that I love working with and have used in the majority of my projects. I cannot say enough about it and its beauty, warmth, character, depth and environmental impact and other benefits it adds to a space. The different colors, textures and finishes that can be achieved are vast. Clay breathes and feels so good in an area. Sound is softer and absorbed more than in a painted room. Temperature is controlled more consistently as the walls hold moisture in the air and release it making an area cooler in the Summer and warmer as it gets colder.

Pictures don’t do it justice.

I currently use clay from two different companies:

Clay-works.com

&

Americanclay.com

I suggest visiting these websites as they are full of information and detail about what choices are offered and the benefits of their products. I am of course happy and able to answer all questions as well.
